Richard Arlen Winn ROCK HILL, S.C. - Richard Arlen Winn, 81, of Rock Hill passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Piedmont Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Catawba Baptist Church with the Reverend Ron Richardson officiating and the Reverend Ben Winn assisting. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A native of York County, Mr. Winn was the son of the late Albert Sydney and Gladys Elizabeth Goodson Winn. He was an active member of Catawba Baptist Church for 67 years. In his early years, Mr. Winn worked at the Industrial Mill. He later worked as a pipefitter/welder with Daniels, Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. and Georgia Pacific. He was well known at the mills as "Big Man." He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many forms of hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand-father and brother to fourteen siblings. He was known for his wonderful storytelling as many will remember. Mr. Winn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lauvenia Bailey Winn of the home; his children, Rick and Cathy Winn, Bruce and Terry Winn, Drew Winn and Susan and Charlie Westbrook, all of Rock Hill; his brother, Clifford Winn (Brenda) of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Evelyn Mitchum and Jean Bishop, both of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
