Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Fuller will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, from 1 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, from 12 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin was born on May 29, 1933, to the late John Henry and Winnie Mae Wilson Chambers in Habersham County. Lou Ella resided in the Gainesville Mill Village most of her life where she worked for Leece Neville for 32 years. She was a member of Montgomery Memorial Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Martin; son, John Michael Martin; brother, Richard Chambers; and sister, Pat Sullens.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Ronnie Pierce of Cleveland; granddaughter and husband, Stacie and Ryan Nuzum of Gainesville; granddaughters, Tracie Martin of Monroe and Mary Terrell of Gainesville; grandson, Benji Boling of Gainesville; stepgrandsons, Joey Pierce of Florida and Matthew Pierce of Alabama; great-granddaughters, Brittany Frady of Gainesville, Tiffanie Patrick of Jefferson, Nichol Whitfield of Lula, and Hannah Nicholson of Gainesville; great-great-grandchildren, Dylan, Mason, Grayson, and Hayden; sister, Jean Simmon of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Bob Sullens of Lula and Cathy and John Jarrard of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Clara Chambers of Lula; and brothers, Terry Lynn Chambers of South Carolina and Roger Chambers of South Carolina.
