PAOLI Grady Gusta Carwile, 82, Paoli, died Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. at Washington County Memorial Hosptial in Salem.

Born in Butler County, Ky., she was the daughter of James Elbert Goodall and Martha Ella (Havens) Goodall. She married Russell Carwile Aug. 9, 1936, and he died Aug. 4, 1998.

She was a homemaker and a member of Prospect Church of Christ near West Baden.

Surviving are four daughters: Jane Barnett and Grady Owen, both of Paoli, Velma Travis of Trenton, Tenn., and Wanda Kennedy of Salem; one son, John Carwile of Trenton; one sister, Dorothy Morris of Gainesville, Fla; one brother, Overt Goodall of Louisville, Ky.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: William and James Russell Carwile; three sisters: Avy Parks, Gladys Blaine and Grady Goodall, and five brothers: Robert, Wavey, Welby, Elvy and Everett Goodall.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McAdams Mortuary with Brother Roscoe Combs and Brother James Babcock officiating. Burial will be in Mount Lebanon Cemetery at French Lick.

Friends may call at the mortuary from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday.
