He was retired as a brewmaster from Stag & Fischbach Brewers and also worked for Anheuser-Busch Inc. He was a member of the Master Brewers Association and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Charles.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at St. Peter. Burial was in St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Among the survivors are his wife, Dorothy Fischbach of St. Charles; two sons, Bruce Fischbach and Barry L. Fischbach, both of St. Charles; one daughter, Barbara Bredensteiner of St. Charles; three sisters, Beatrice Eggert of Chicago and Dorothy Salters and Mary Wilmes, both of St. Charles; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
