Bugtussle Village resident Terry Wayne Casey, 62, died Friday, June 9, in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services were June 13 at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, McAlester, with Pastor Kris Steele officiating.

Military honors were provided by the Harrison-Powers Post No. 79 of the American Legion following the funeral at Oak Hill Cemetery Pavilion.

He was born April 14, 1944, in Berkeley, Calif., to Olen E. and Edrie L. (Lee) Casey.

Terry graduated from McAlester High School in 1962.

In July, he entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in July 1968.

He attended East Central State College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in art and industrial arts in 1971. He earned his master's degree in trade and industrial education from Oklahoma State University in 1975. His educational skills led him to a teaching position at Choctaw High School in 1972, and he continued teaching at Eastern Oklahoma State College from 1973-1975. In 1975, he was employed by Gordon Cooper Technology Center until 1979. He was a quality control auditor at General Motors Corporation in Oklahoma City until his retirement.

In college, he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity and was later a Mason, as was his father before him.

He was characterized throughout his life as a caring individual and enjoyed entertaining and sharing anecdotes from days gone by. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was considered a master chef by many.

His parents and one brother, Larry Casey, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Vicky and Tommy Busby of Chickasha; three daughters, Tasha Casey of Oklahoma City, Melissa Hilton of Shawnee and Rachele Dakil of Oklahoma City and their mothers, Sydney Casey of Shawnee and T. Anne Dakil of Arlington, Texas; significant other, Judi Smith of McAlester; grandchildren, William Joshua and Josie Mae Hilton of Shawnee; three nieces and one nephew; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other family and friends.

Terry was an organ donor and his wishes were to be cremated.
Part of his ashes were scattered by his daughters at a favorite fishing hole in Bugtussle, OK.
