Willie McKenzie, born March 21, 1920, in Tallassee, Alabama to the late Ben and Fannie McKenzie. He departed this life at age 95 on May 6, 2015.

He resided in Joliet, Illinois after serving in the United States Army. He worked at Schundlers, then later retired from Johns-Mansville. He met and married Dorothy McDonald and to this union six children were born.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Alan; two daughters, Judith and YaVonda; two sisters; three brothers; one granddaughter and one great grandson.

Left to mourn his passing; two daughters, DeVona E. Epps and Kelly M. McKenzie; two sons, Lance R. McKenzie and Paul D. McKenzie; 12 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; caring neighbors, Larry Jones, Tony Jones, Jerry Jones, Rev. Philip Clarke and dear friend, Bea Larry.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark C.M.E. Church, 348 S. Joliet St., Joliet, IL, Rev. Stephen Deloney, Pastor. Service at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Philip Clarke, officiating. Interment following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
