ANDERSON — Doris Jean Rush, 49, Anderson, departed this life suddenly on May 14, 2015.

Doris was born April 1, 1966 to Herbert Lee Rush and Casandra Donald Rush in Madison County, IN.

Doris graduated in 1984 from Madison Heights High School. She was employed at McDonald's until an illness forced her to retire. She was also an Avon representative at one time.

Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her mother; daughter, Dorrissa; and granddaughter, Dariyah, who was the love of her life. She also enjoyed "taxi cabbing" for family and friends.

Doris leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her daughter, Dorissa Rush; granddaughter, Dariyah Morris; mother, Casandra Rush; two sisters, Sandra (Fred Jr.) Reese and Linda Faye Rush; one brother, Herbert Earl Rush; a special brother and sister, Ronnie Coleman and T'Nelle Edwards; two nephews, Brandon Rush and FreSan Reese, all of Anderson; three nieces, Lynesha Rush, Maquanna Rush and Malquisha Murphy, all of Anderson; great-nephew, Homer Hoskins III; special aunts, Shirley Ann Prince of DeKalb, Miss., Mary Ann (O.P.) Dixon of Anderson, and Earnestine Creer of Moss Point, Miss.; five uncles, Jerry (Mary) Donald of DeKalb, Miss., L.C. (Loretta) Donald of Milwaukee, Wis., Henry W (Gloria) Cole, Willie Marvin (Loretta) Peden of Anderson, and Donald Earl Cole of Muncie; special friend, Kenny McGraw; close friends, Darnella McGraw, Debra Larkin, Carolyn Haynes, LaNelle Booker, the Murphy family and many more too numerous to name. Doris leaves a host of loving family and friends who will miss her greatly.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Lee Rush; brother, Greg Morris Rush; paternal grandparents, Roy Rush,and Mary "Mae" Houston Peden Rush Cole; paternal step grandfather, Joe Phil Cole; and maternal grandparents, Morris Donald and Erma Hampton Donald.

Services will be held at noon Saturday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1540 W. 16th St., Anderson, with Dr. Rev. Edgar M. Woodall and Pastor Marlon Collins officiating.

Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
