Kenneth Carroll Thames, 68, of Lake Charles and formerly of Orange, Texas, died May 12, 2015 at a local hospital following an extended illness.

Kenneth was a native of Beaumont, Texas. He was a graduate of Lamar State University. He held a true passion for growing plants of all kinds and retired as a prison guard for the state of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Earl Thames and Jacque Roberts Harding.

Those left to honor and cherish his memories are his devoted sister, Nancy Thames Kelley, Vinton; nephew, W. Clay Baker, Orange, Texas; nieces, Stacy Baker Brooks, Lainie Baker Trahan and husband Dave and Shelley Baker, all of Vinton; great nieces and nephews, Logan & Kelsi Brooks, Kolby and Kyle Ketenbrink and Zach Trosclair; and a great-great niece and nephew, Raygan and Kayden Brooks.

A memorial graveside gathering of family and friends will be at 11:00 AM Friday May 15, 2015 at the Hooks Cemetery in Kountze, Texas. The Rev. Roger Templeton will officiate services.
