Clara Elisa Moore Stephens, 83, of the Georgia community, passed away, Friday, June 10, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 12, in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Moore, Wade White and the Rev. David Farmer officiating. Burial is to follow in Georgia Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

She was the youngest child of Will and Pearl Moore. She was born on May 20, 1928, and was the youngest of seven children.

All of her brothers and sisters have preceded her in death. She graduated from Direct High School at age 16 and Paris Junior College at 18.

She married Q.B. Stephens on Aug. 13, 1949. She and Q.B. were married for 52 years. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2001.

She was a homemaker and devoted mother. She helped Q.B. and Felix on their farm and ranch business and was a secretary and bookkeeper for Felix's construction and farm business. Clara was an active member of Direct Baptist Church. She had been ill for about six weeks. Her last wish was to get to come home and attend church at Direct Baptist Church. She died at home surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her three children, Julia Vincent and husband, Randy, of Midlothian, Laura Gilbreath of Greenville, and Felix Stephens of the Georgia community; four grandsons, Wesley and Brent Vincent of Midlothian, and Will and Paul Gilbreath, of Greenville; one great-grandchild, Cadence Vincent, 3, of Midlothian; and several beloved nieces and nephews of the Moore family.

Her family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude for all those loved ones who helped with her care since her illness, especially her caretaker, Martha, and her family.

Pallbearers are Wesley Vincent, Brent Vincent, Will Gilbreath, Paul Gilbreath, Jerry Neil Ward Jr. and Caleb Sleeper.
