Rosie Marie (Pryor) Martin was born on October 22, 1927, to James (Known as "G") and Clara Pryor in Waco, Texas. Rosie was the youngest daughter, Lil Sister, of six brothers, Milton, James, Fred, Alfred, George, Bryant and one sister, Louise. Their influence and love along with an extended family to include her niece Gloria, formed the foundation of her character and sincere love of family.

Rosie graduated from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, a historically black collage. With diligence that came from an inner strength, she became a Teacher/ Assistant Principal who demonstrated her love for being a part of the educational profession for 28 years.

Rosie Marie Martin married Curtis Martin,Jr. in 1952. A family was started that grew with Ronald, Grenell, Curtis III, Vincent and Dwight. Her unconditional love for her sons brought her immense joy, some challenging moments, laughter and quiet pride.

Rosie enjoyed being home with her husband Curtis, sharing a special relationship that grew as they matured. This love was unique, rare and special. It is a love they lived on a daily basis, which was built on mutual respect, support and always laughter.

Rosie leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Curtis Martin, Jr. and her 5 sons one which preceded her in death Vincent and 4 remaining sons, Ronald, Grenell (Demetria), Curtis III (Pamela) and Dwight (Rena). She has 4 grandchildren plus 3 extended grandsons, 2 great grandchildren and 3 extended great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
