Roger Garnett Lloyd, 79, of Orange, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the UVa/Culpeper Regional Hospital. Born April 5, 1935, in Montpelier Station, he was the son of the late James Lester and Inie Southard Lloyd.Roger was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, a Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 156 for 44 years, was a volunteer at the Love Outreach Food Pantry, and a retired product engineer with Virginia Metal Products and Acme Visible Records. Roger is survived by his wife, Elizabeth H. Lloyd of Orange; two daughters, Dee L. Stall and husband, Walter of Spotsylvania, and Carolyn L. Roudabush of Orange; one son, Garnett Lloyd and wife, Rebecca of Morganton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Matthew Stall, Michael Stall, Joshua Shifflett and Fiance Kea Raines, Rachael Lloyd, and Jessica Lloyd; three great grandchildren, Lep Shifflett, Anneke Raines, and Lacey Shifflett; sister, Joyce L. Clark of Orange; brother, Larry Lloyd of Orange; several nieces and nephews; and friends, Ernest and Sandra Kennon. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 143 W. Main Street, Orange, Va. The family received friends on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Tom Barnard officiated.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry, c/o Gloria Thatcher, P.O. Box 788, Orange, VA 22960. Interment followed at the Graham Cemetery, Orange with military honors by American Legion Post 156.Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
