Mrs. Charlotte Wiltfang, formerly of Jefferson county, passed away in a Hastings hospital November 11, 1953, at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 27 days. She had suffered for some time from the infirmity of advanced age.
Charlotte Michels was born July 15, 1867, in Ostfriesland, Germany, and was baptized in infancy and confirmed.
In 1886 she came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Michels, who settled near Gladstone, Nebraska.
On February 21, 1887, she married Nicolaus Eisenhauer and to them eight children were born. Two preceded her in death, John and Mary, and her husband died July 20, 1933. Two brothers, Martin Michels and Gerd Michels, and two sisters, Minnie Mintzmeyer and Mary Junker, also preceded her in death.
The family lived most of the time in the vicinity of Gladstone.
On September 23, 1937, she married Henry Wilfang, who preceded her in death February 27, 1949.
Since her arrival in this country, she had been a member of Zion's Evangelical and Reformed church.
Surviving are six children, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Traum's chapel and Zion's Evangelical and Reformed church with the pastor. Rev. D. Beulter, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
