Darlene M. (Mrs. Vernon) "Peggy" Green, 70, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2:00 until 6:00 Sunday, April 14, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound. The Reverend Father Bill Kneemiller will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Logan Green, Clayton Green, Kim Besst, Dean Geise, Brad Geise, Dick Evers.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.

The former Darlene Mae Albers was born September 2, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa, to Lester and Carolyn "Honey" (Beste) Albers. Peggy graduated from Grand Mound High School.

On August 12, 1961, she was united in marriage to Vernon Green at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. Peggy was employed for over 30 years at DeWitt Community Hospital in the accounting department.

Peggy was an avid Hawkeye basketball fan. She enjoyed counted cross stitch, sewing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Vern; sons and daughters-in-laws, Mark and Martha Green of Andalusia, Illinois, and David and Kelly Green of Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren, Logan, Kaitlyn and Sidney; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwaine and Sharon Albers of Newark, Ohio, and Dennis and Judy Albers of Kona, Hawaii; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Peggy in death were her parents.
