Florence Mae Howard

SALAMANCA - Florence Mae Howard, of Chestnut Street, formerly of Franklinville, died Tuesday (May 5, 2015) at Absolut Care of Salamanca.

Born Jan. 21, 1934, in Tuschora, Pa., she was a daughter of James and Frances Tucker Holmes. She was married to Ed Bartlett in Franklinville; William Atwater, who predeceased her; and in 1992, she married Richard Howard in Great Valley.

Mrs. Howard attended Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville and was employed for several years at Signor's Inc. of Ellicottville and The Barn Restaurant, also of Ellicottville. She also lived in Texas with her brother and took care of his children.

Surviving are two daughters Lillian (Alois) Puszcz of Great Valley and Judith Atwater of Salamanca; three sons, Jeffery (Darleen) Atwater of Humphrey, Arthur (Deborah) Atwater of Oneonta and Charles (Pam) Atwater of Oak Hill, Ohio; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Holmes of Nevada, Terry Holmes of Salamanca and Frank Holmes of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sons, Wesley Atwater, Richard Atwater and William Atwater; one brother, James Holmes; and four sisters, Phalia McDonald, Ruth Wallace, Bertha Gravanda and Rose Mary Tilton.

Burial will take place in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville.
