JULIA BURNETT SMITH-STEVENS was born on 20 July 1856 in St Albans, Franklin County, Vermont to John Gregory Smith & Ann Eliza Brainerd-Smith.

As a young lady, Julia attended boarding school in N Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut.

Julia married Oliver Crocker Stevens on 10 June 1885 in St Albans, Franklin County, Vermont. There is no record of children by this marriage. However, The 1890 census burned, and the couple cannot be located on the 1900 census to confirm whether they did or did not have children.

Oliver and Julia were able to travel to Liverpool England together, and they returned on the ship "Tunisian" at a port in Quebec, Canada on 20 June 1903. Julia was able to enjoy more traveling later in life as a widow, visiting the countries of Austria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.

Julia passed away on 26 September 1929 in St Albans, Franklin County, Vermont, and she was laid to rest there with her family at Greenwood Cemetery.
