William J. "Bill" Malloy, age 65, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 11, 2015. Bill owned and operated the DE American Darters Association (ADA). He was a dedicated employee of Artesian Water for the last 11 years. Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports teams fan. He enjoyed toy boat racing and won many trophies. Bill cherished his family (especially the grandchildren) and spent many relaxing summer days at family BBQ's.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Eileen Malloy; daughter, Kimberly Malloy; son, Bill Malloy (Tina); grandchildren, Ciara and Liam; brother, Robert Malloy; and sister, Paula Zimmerman (John). He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pauline Malloy.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 and again on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 8:30 -10 AM followed by a service in celebration of Bill's life at 10 AM. A private burial in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Christiana Care, Office of Development, 13 Reads Way Suite 203, New Castle, DE 19702 (place Cardiac ICU in memo line).
