Ray W. Carter Jr. of Harrisonville, Missouri was born September 6, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life on Saturday, May 9, 2015 surrounded by love and family. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Kathleen E. Carter on March 9, 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Ferguson and husband, William, his son, Ray W. Carter III and his wife, Denise all of Harrisonville; four grandchildren, Shelly Miciano (Jon), Renae Kubik (Brad), Ray W. (Ruben) Carter IV (Alexa), Nichole Marshall (John); the light of Ray's life was his eleven great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Mia, Madison, Hayden, Peyton, Jensen, Ray W. (Quincy) V, Sicily, August, Caroline and Henry. Ray loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, guns, carving, sunshine, America and most of all his family.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the chapel.



Family suggests contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School or to Crossroads Hospice all in care of the funeral home.
