MOUNT HOREB / BLANCHARDVILLE - Amos Moen, age 98, of Mount Horeb, Wis., died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Ingleside Nursing Home in Mount Horeb.

He was born on April 10, 1917, in Perry Township, to August and Mabel (Swenson) Moen. He was baptized and confirmed at the Old York Lutheran Church. He attended River Forks Grade School in the Town of Moscow.

He was united in marriage to Verna I. Steensland on Feb. 3, 1940, at the Steensland Homestead. After their marriage, they joined Perry Lutheran Church. They lived in Drammen Valley until 1980 when they moved to Mount Horeb. He was a Blanchardville Sodbuster tug-a-war team member. He worked at Oscar Mayer and later spent many years buying and selling cattle. He worked at the University Experimental Farms. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and "eating out". After retirement, he enjoyed the coffee clutch with the men at local restaurants. He especially loved family gatherings. Together, they had 10 children, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Verna; their children, Glen (Diane) Moen of Madison, Marie Meyer of Mount Horeb, Augie (Barb) Moen of Monticello, Dennis (Jan) Moen of Tucson, Ariz., Marcia (Bob) Pilling of Mineral Point, Kevin (Theresa) Moen of Mineral Point, and Carolyn (Greg) Clerkin of Barneveld; son-in-law, James McKeon of Blanchardville; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donald Moen and Rolfe Moen; daughter, Norma McKeon; two grandsons, Brian McKeon, Russell W Horne.

Burial will be at the PERRY LUTHERAN CHURCH church cemetery, Daleyville, Wis.
