She was born Sept. 19, 1879 the daughter of Robert and Maria Stanley Schutz of Elgin. She was married to Frank Russell June 16, 1900. Her girlhood days were spent in Elgin. She was a graduate of the Elgin high school and taught school in this area. She attended the Burlington Methodist church and was a member of the Rachael Cicrle of the Womans Society of christian Service.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. Elmer (Gladys) Anderson and Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Anderson, both of Burlington, Ralph Russell of Elgin and Robert Russell of Loxley, Ala.,seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Richard and Robert Schtz of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1940 her parents and two sisters, Maude and Minnie Schutz.
Funeral services were conducted from the Burlington Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. John Curtis, Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Burlington cemetery. The body was brought from the Fredrick funeral home in Hampshire at 1 O'clock to the church where the body lay in state up until time of the funeral. Six grandsons acted as casket bearers for their grandmother.
