He is survived by three children and their spouses, David L. & Betty Goolden, Richard P. & Carol Goolden, Debora and Randy Fenton, all of Massena. Nine grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie Inness Brown, Ogdensburg and Betty Mattice, Madrid; four brothers, Judson Goolden, Massena, Ronald Goolden and Theodore Goolden of Ogdensburg and Lloyd Perry of Ogdensburg.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Joan in infancy; a sister, Alice Smith; and two brothers, Vern and Darrell Goolden.
Mr. Goolden was born on July 30, 1918 in Madrid, the son of Mervin and Grace (Carr) Goolden.
He married Clara L. Backus on Apr. 5, 1941 in Canton.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Worked in the Remelt Dept. at Alcoa and was also a fork truck driver. He was employed for 45 years.
