Born in Wheeling (West Virginia), March 17, 1876, George was the son of James P. and Martha (Jackson) Rogers. He was educated at Linsly Military Institute (Wheeling) and was graduated from the University of Virginia. He worked as an attorney in Wheeling and retired 5 years before his death. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church (Wheeling). One son, James P. Rogers, was killed in World War II. At the time of his death, George was survived by his wife, Clara (West Rogers); a son, John W. of Hudson, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald Shrader of Great Bend, Kansas; Mrs. Warren DeBolt of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and Miss Joanna J. Rogers of Cleveland, Ohio.
