WEST LAFAYETTE -- Shawn C. Young, 40, of 416 E. Fourth St., died at 7:48 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Born June 16, 1961, in Coshocton, he was a son of the late Roy E. and Doris (Kinney) Young. On Nov. 12, 1988, he married Sue Bernhart, who survives. Mr. Young was a 1979 graduate of Ridgewood High School. He was employed by Coshocton Trucking and West Lafayette and Baltic Post offices as a rural mail carrier. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Chelsea Marie Young and Christina Dawn Young, both of the home; three half brothers, Ralph Young, Larry Young, both of Coshocton, and Steven Mulford of Indiana; two sisters, Susan Swails and husband Joe of West Lafayette and Tammie Young of Coshocton; and a half sister, Diane Hagen of Washington State. Mr. Young was preceded in death by a brother, Randy; and a half brother, Jack. Private family services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at the Given-Dawson Coshocton Funeral Home with Pastors Kent Modlin and James Lillo officiating. Burial will be held in the Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the funeral home.
