: Russell Harley Crump, 92, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, February 25, 2000. He was born in Paint Bank to the late Charles and Mary Claytor Crump. He was a retired truck driver for Jim Walters Homes. Mr. Crump was preceded in death by his wife, Lorain W. Crump, and two sons, John R. Crump, and William L. Crump. Survivors include three daughters, Edith Boggs, Grace King, and Helen (Sterling) Moorman, all of Roanoke; four sons, Charles (Kittie) Crump, Charleston, W.Va., David Crump, Walter (Toni) Crump, both of Roanoke, and Jerry Crump of California; three sisters, Elizabeth Ball of Columbus, Ohio, Ealon Bonner of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Catherine Thomas of Roanoke; two daughters-in-law, Ruth Crump, and Gloria Crump, both of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Marie Duigan of London, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Edward Haynes of Bridgeport, Ohio; a devoted friend, Eddie Dalton of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Crump was very special to each of his family members and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Cedric Malone will officiate and the interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends may call Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home on Tuesday for viewing.
