Lovey was the best person I knew. Yes, he was a cat, but you couldn't prove that by me. I'd say he was more than a cat, or perhaps he was what every cat should be! If you were sad or lonely, he'd come seek you out and bring you love and comfort. Sometimes as you were busy working you'd look up and he would be studying you, and what you were doing. (Waiting patiently for your attention.) It still seems like he's here, and all you need do is look up and he'd be there. Maybe he is.
