Kathy June Arnold, 53, of Junction City, died Friday, May 8, 2015 at her home in Junction City. Kathy was born April 27, 1962 in Junction City, the daughter of Kenneth Ray and Karen June (Kandt) Bumgarner. She was a life-long Junction City resident, and a graduate of Junction City High School. She later attended Manhattan Area Vocational Technical School. She was a receptionist at the Ft. Riley Educational Center and, most recently, the Awards Dept. at Ft. Riley. She attended the First Southern Baptist Church.
Kathy married Ray Arnold on December 28, 1984 at Ft. Riley. Ray survives of the home. Other survivors include: a son, Clint Arnold and his wife Jill; a daughter, Chrissy Hessler, all of Junction City; 2 sisters, Kaylene Prevett and husband Dennis, Gardner, and Karla Butler and husband David, Chapman; and a grandson, Corbin Hessler, Junction City. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.
At Kathy’s request, cremation has taken place.
A memorial visitation, where the family will greet friends, will be Thursday, May 14, 2015, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline, Junction City. As Kathy was a huge and avid sports fan, attendees are requested to wear their favorite sports attire. A private family inurnment will be at a later date at Moss Springs Cemetery near Alta Vista.
