Eddie Myrtle Cooper Moore passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 2-3 pm Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Norris Roy Moore, her parents, Eddie Lafayette Cooper and Vera Cooper, her sister Jane Cooper, her son-in-law, Jamesey Martin.

She is survived by her brother, Billy Lafayette Cooper of Baton Rouge, La., 4 children, Ann and Alan George, Tommy and Cheryl Moore, John and Kim Moore, and Lisa Martin. She also has 10 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to count.

Mrs. Moore lived a very active and productive life until her final days. She loved her Savior and her church first, then her loving husband followed by her children and grandchildren. Next, the many friends she gained down through the years were very special to her.

She was very active in her church and numerous service organizations such as being Chief Red Jacket of the Rankin County DAR and the Rankin County Farm Bureau where she served as Women’s Chairman many years. She also served with the statewide Farm Bureau organization where she was a district women’s chairman and served on the Farm Bureau State Women’s Committee.

Because of her love for God, family, and country, Mrs. Moore was not only involved daily with her church, but was actively involved in the political process locally, statewide, and nationally where she served on the Rankin County Republican Executive Committee for several years. She was known and loved by many for her willingness to share of all she had with those with whom she came in contact. She will be deeply missed.
