Iva Nora Stanford, Age 92 of Newton died Sunday morning November 25, 2018 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 27, 2018 at Newton First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tommy Giddens, Pastor Larry Skipper and Pastor Andy Wood officiating and Family First Funeral & Cremation Care directing. Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Active pallbearers will be Eric Stanford, Jason Stanford, Brantley Brockett, Brad Williams, Andy Grider and Jimmy Hicks. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Vivian B. Adams School 2047 Stuart Tarter Road Ozark, Al 36360. Mrs. Stanford was born in Daleville daughter of the late Thomas Marvin Benton and Hettie Pearl Price. She had lived in Newton most of her lifetime, was a member of Newton First Assembly of God Church and participated in the church WMC. She was a homemaker and took pride in raising her 3 sons and feeding all their friends as she did often. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Quenton Stanford a daughter Brenda Stanford and a daughter in law Delaine Blocker Stanford. Survivors include her 3 sons Ted Stanford, Dean (Brenda) Stanford and Mark (Fay) Stanford all of Newton, a brother David Benton of Newton, a brother in law and sister in law David (Elaine) Stanford of Bartlettsville, OK, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
