Lake Sinclair - James W. "Jimmy" Iler, Sr., 73, died Jun 28 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

The Chatham County native lived in Pooler for 45 years before moving to Lake Sinclair in 1997. He had retired at 38 years from Baker Brothers, Inc., He was a member of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge No., 116 F&AM.

Survivors; his wife, Vernelle Coleman Iler of Lake Sinclair; daughter, Janice I. Singletary of Melrose, FlC., and Jennifer I. German of Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, James Iler, Jr. of Savannah; a stepdaughter, Deborah Baird of Eatonton; a stepson, Barry E. Coleman of Swainsboro; two sisters Louella Davis of Brunswick and Dorothy Newton of Walterboro, S.C.; three brothers, William H. Iler of Bloomingdale, Benjamin Iler of Inverness, Fla., and John Iler of Bluffton; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler, burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Remembrances: Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, 1405 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30322.
