Ricky Collier, 55, of rural Columbia City, died at 2:19 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

He was born April 13, 1960 in Shelbyville, Indiana a son of Vincent Lonnie and Pearl Mae (Holcomb) Collier. His formative years were spent in Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.

He resided in Columbia City primarily also living in Texas, Florida, Ohio and New Haven.

On December 1, 2012 he married Shanna R. Maggard.

A skilled machinist, he was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He is survived by his wife, Shanna, seven children, Summer Klinger of Fort Wayne, Ricky Lonnie Collier, Daniel Robert Collier, Paul Patton, Hannah Patton and Jacob Franks, all of Columbia City; three grandchildren, Derek Michael Jones, Sierra Lee Klinger and Caydence Autumn Beachy; four siblings, Ed Collier of S.C., Stacy Dear, Wallace (Peggy) Collier and Sandra Collier, all of Columbia City; and a half brother, Paul Maggard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Autumn Collier; two brothers, Roger Collier and Harold Collier; a sister, Mantie Furnas; a half-sister, Marie Profit; and two half-brothers, Tim and Dan Maggard.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in the South Park Annex Cemetery. The visitation will be after 12:00 noon Friday at the funeral home.
