Lloyd Albert "Al" Campbell, 70, of Roanoke, formerly of Ona, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, May 9, 2015, after a long illness.

Born April 7, 1945, in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., he is the son of the late John F. and Anna Stanley Campbell. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Frances Kidd, Dorothy Parker, John F. Campbell.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Frazier and her husband, Jerry, of Roanoke; and his sister-in-law, Viola Campbell of Roanoke; his son, Michael Campbell and his wife, Shelley, of Charleston, S.C.; his daughters, Julie Burns and her husband, John, of Hurricane, W.Va., Ellen Daniels of Moneta; and former son-in-law, Jimmy Daniels of Ona, W.Va.; and Nancy Simmons and her husband, Dave, of Roanoke; and his grandchildren, Samuel and Ruby Campbell, Kelsey, Katie, Olivia, and Ella Burns, Davey, Chloe, and Conner Daniels, and Noah and William Simmons; special friends, Judy and Dallas Crickenberger; and many nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family.

He is a graduate of White Sulphur Springs High School and of Concord College and had a successful career in accounting.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Avenue in Roanoke, Va. Family will receive guests as early as 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Hillcrest Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.

The family wishes to thank the entire team of caregivers at the Roanoke-Salem Fresenius Medical Care Center. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
