I believe he is the son of David John and Elizabeth (Laflin) Hostutler. His father David was born in West Virginia and his mother Elizabeth in Ohio. Their children were born in Ohio, then West Virginia as late as 1870, then in 1872, their son Peter was born in Missouri. Their daughter Anna was also born in Missouri in 1874. Their son Jesse, was born in Kansas in 1877. In 1880, they are living in Rose Creek, Thayer, Nebraska.
And yes! I have found him!
