Dawn Doreen (called Doreen by her parents) was born in Iowa in 1952, and given up for adoption. She was adopted by a wonderful couple, Doran and Aileen Williams. Sadly, Doran died very young, while the couple was in the process of adopting Doreen's brother, Bob. Eventually, Aileen remarried to Hugh Edwards, who adopted both children (thus the many surnames). Doreen had a baby son whom she gave up for adoption when she was a teenager. She named him Dana. While still quite young, she married Mr. Rogers and they had one daughter, Anna P. (names not fully listed to protect privacy). This marriage did not last, and eventually Doreen married one last time to Mr. Fulford. By then she went by the nickname Jette, which was inspired by the David Bowie song "Suffragette City."

Jette was a very bright and talented woman. She loved words in any form - writing them, saying them, making art with them, and playing with them. She had a calligraphy business and was talented enough to support herself with her calligraphy. her biggest client was Duke Power Company; she lettered all of their diplomas. She also had done some modeling and loved to dress up and go out looking very beautiful. She especially loved pretty shoes, and loved to go dancing. She had very thick, naturally curly hair. She was licensed to do sculptured nails and also made money that way, as well as waiting tables, and selling crafts. She loved her two black cats, Harley Davidson Cat and Magic, and her dog, Shiva P. (for Puppy) Dawg. She had a tiny tattoo of a green seahorse, named "Hector C. Horse."

Jette was an "early to bed, early to rise" morning person. She was very organized and kept a simple but tidy house. She was usually without funds and just managed to make ends meet. She didn't cook much, but she liked things like barbecued ribs, bacon, and so forth.

Jette loved her daughter, her mother, and her brother. She also loved Dana and never forgot about him. She spoke of him often and wondered how he was. This website is for him as much as for her honor and memory, in case he ever searches for his mother.

Jette was from the Charlotte, North Carolina area, and loved car races. She also loved the ocean and living on islands; she lived on Ocracoke Island, Colington Island, and Chincoteague Island.
