Edmund G. Reuter, 80, R.R. 1, Fairland, died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday at his home. He had been in failing health since January.

Born March 3, 1897, in Morris, the son of Henry J. and Frances(Woerdemann)Reuter, he was married Feb. 11, 1920 in Kentland to Katherine Illingworth, who died in 1965.

Surviving are six children, Lt. Col. E. G. Reuter Jr., Clearwater, Fla.; Mrs. Oscar(Mary K.)Franson; the Misses Mildred and Ruth Reuter, all of Goodman; Mrs. Milton(Delores)Stone, Lafayette, and Mrs. Russell(Eileen)Emond, Wolcott. Other survivors include four brothers, Raphael Reuter, with whom he made his home, Otto J. Reuter, St. Louis, Alphonse Reuter, Cincinnati and Justin Reuter, Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Mary Frances Haddad, Cincinnati, and 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Reuter was a retired farmer and state employee. He moved here five years ago from Indianapolis and belonged to St. joseph Catholic Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. William Ernst officiating.

Burial will be in St. joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Murphy Mortuary after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
