Kathryn Dolores Eickhoff Reed, April 7, 1917 - March 22, 2021. Kathryn was born in Wittenberg, WI. She was the daughter of Ruby (Kinney) and Harold O. Eickhoff.

She attended schools in Antigo and graduated from Antigo High School in 1935. She attended Ripon College for two years. Kathryn was employed at C & N W Railway in Antigo from 1939 to 1947. She married John R. Reed (BUD) in Antigo on February 18, 1944. Kathryn and John moved to Conover in October, 1947, where they lived until 1983 when they moved to Eagle River.

Kathryn was a charter member of Jobes Daughters in Antigo. She was a member and past
matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Eagle River. She was a member of the Gaveliers, past matrons. Kathryn was a member the Congregational Church in Eagle River. She was a long time member of the Plum Creek Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, Sayner. She was a long time supporter of the Conover Lions Club. She was a member of the Conover school board. She was very active in the Homemakers and Women's clubs in Conover
Kathryn was the first woman sheriff's deputy in northern Wisconsin working at the Vilas County Sheriff's Department from April, 1967 through April, 1983. The family is honored to have 6 female deputies from the Sheriff's Department serve as pallbearers.

Kathryn is survived by two sons, Jack of Rice Lake and Tom (Karen) of Sayner. Three
grandchildren: John (Michelle), Matthew (Melanie), and Alyssa (Tony). Seven great
grandchildren: Bradley, Naomi (Luke), Eve (Trevor), Seth, Dominic, Eli, and Reed. One great great granddaughter, Hazel. Two cousins in Antigo: Bette (Rick) Clay and Judy Cousineau. One cousin Lee (Sandy) Hanson of Cheboygan, MI and several nieces, nephews and many, many friends. She was especially loved by those in Arkansas and Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her husband John "Bud" Reed, parents Harold and Ruby Eickhoff, brothers Jack, Harold, and Dr. Everett Eickhoff and daughter-in-law Donna Reed.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday April 10, 2021 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and interment will follow at Hildegard Cemetery in Conover, WI.
