Carolyn Cannon Hodges, age 79, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015.

Mrs. Hodges was born on August 4, 1935 in Atlanta, GA, daughter of the late Calvin Sanders Cannon and Charlie Mae Preston Cannon.

Mrs. Hodges absolutely loved watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and any judge show playing on the television. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a proud and active former member of Woodstock Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, James Orville Walter Hodges; brother, Calvin Cannon.

Survivors include her children, Susan Benton (Gary) of Marietta, GA; Allen Hodges (Melody) of Taylorsville, Dean Hodges (Judy) of Dallas, GA and Daryl Hodges (Rollette) of Dallas, GA; brothers, Eugene Cannon, Richard Cannon (Joyce) of Marietta and Raymond Cannon (Evelyn) of Monroe, GA; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Edmundson and Rev. Ronald Savage officiating. Interment will follow from Providence Cemetery in Cartersville, GA.

Visitation will be held from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Owen Funeral Home.
