Eupheamea was the daughter of John Reynolds of New Brunswick and the granddaughter of Scottish immigrant William Ranald [Reynolds], who died in Freehold, Monmouth Co., NJ, in 1709.

Note: Genealogist Orra Eugene Monnette, in First Settlers of ye Plantations of Piscataway and Woodbridge, Part V, p. 714 (1933), misidentified Eupheamea as the daughter of Andrew Johnston of Perth Amboy. This error was repeated by Jay W. Thornall in The Freeman-Thornall Connection in the Woodbridge-Metuchen Area of Middlesex County, N.J. (1984). Charles R. Hutchinson also misidentified Eupheamea as a Tantum in the Rogers genealogy included in his otherwise excellent series of unpublished compilations held by the New Jersey Historical Society. These incorrect lineages are analyzed and conclusively refuted in "Eupheamea Reynolds, Wife of James Freeman Sr." by Joseph R. Klett, The Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey 68:14-16 (Jan. 1993).

Eupheamea and her husband lived near Kingston Presbyterian Church and may have been members. They might be interred in the adjacent burial ground considering that their children and grandchildren were also affiliated with the church. Many early gravestones there have been lost.
