HOULKA - Samuel H. "Sammy" Wilkerson, 66, died at his home Friday, May 8, 2015. He was born August 13, 1948, in Shaw, MS, to Lee and Louise Wilkerson. He had worked as a furniture factory employee all his life.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at Schooner Valley Baptist Church in Houlka, with Brother Linn Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Ellzey Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at the church. Southern Funeral Chapel of Houston is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Clair & Randy of Houlka a son, Sam Wilkerson & Galyn of Flora; seven grandchildren: Hope Wingo & Jake of New Market, AL, Brenda Wilkerson, Channing Clair, Josh Clair, Destiny Wilkerson, and Karen Wilkerson all of Houlka, and A.J. Medina of Flora; one great-granddaughter Adalynn Wilkerson of Houlka; two sisters, Liz French of Derma and Linda Roberson of Bogue Chitto, and two brothers David Wilkerson of Summit and Jimmy Wilkerson of Chatham, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda Moss Wilkerson, a brother, Donald Wilkerson and sister Shirley Diel.
