Paul R. Rush, 87, of Springtown died February 7, 2013 in Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL. He was the husband of Esther (Fretz) Rush. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary last October. Born in Bethlehem, PA he was the son of the late Simon C. and Perlumia (Myers) Rush.

Prior to retiring, he was an instrument repairman for Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the Aluta Lodge #488 IOOF, the Allen Council #753 Jr.O.U.A.M. and the Springtown Volunteer Fire Company. Paul served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Quakertown American Legion Post #242. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Springtown.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Heck and her husband John; two granddaughters, Kerin (Isaac) Sancken and Laura (Salvatore) Bucaro; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Ava; and nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his son, Kurt; brothers, Merritt, Philip, Earl; and sisters, Virginia and Charlotte.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1990 Route 212 (Pleasant Valley) Quakertown. Call 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Quakertown is in charge of the arrangements.
