An 18-year-old Jeffersonville woman was killed in a one-car accident about 3:20 a.m. yesterday on Middle Road in Dark County. Melissa Harper, of 1002 Dogwood Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene. Clark County Coroner Edwin Coots said she apparently died of head Injuries. Harper, who was alone, was driving east and lost control of the car on a curve near Loma Vista Drive, Clark County police said. The car crossed the road, crashed through a wooden fence and overturned twice, police said. Harper was thrown from the vehicle. Harper was employed at Big Lots Department Store in Jeffersonville. She was a graduate of Providence High School In Jeffersonville. Survivors Include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Harper; a sister. Amy Harper; and a grandmother, Fern Bierly of Clarksville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1840 E. Eighth St., Jeffersonville, with burial in Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Home, 708 E. Spring St, New Albany, after 11 a.m. tomorrow.
