Thelma Cornia Buck was born in Woodruff, Utah, the daughter of Orson and Elizabeth Lewis Cornia. She married Lewis Buck in 1914 in Woodruff. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She was the mother of eight children (three died in infancy.)

She loved to fish as a young girl. Because she lived on Woodruff Creek, many of her free hours were spent fishing. She was active in the LDS Church and held many offices.

Thelma was a person devoted to her husband and family, working hard and always thinking of and doing for them. She was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. She took pride in this talent. She was devoted to Woodruff, never having any desire to live elsewhere. She passed away August 5, 1968.
