Blues Guitarist, Vocalist. As a young man he traveled around to major sities across the United States playing his music. He settled on a steady gig playing guitar at medicine shows wearing the sheepskin hat that became his trademark throughout the rest of his career. Gabriel developed a unique style of singing by talking his way through a song and then giving way to the melody in an easy tempo. But it was his rare styling on the guitar that set him apart from others of the era mixing rhythm and melody. In 1970 he released the single, 'Welfare Blues' as well as an album 'My South.' Born Robert Lewis Jones, he also recorded under the name Nyles Jones.
