Josephine Danowski of Riverhead, formerly of Patchogue, died June 17 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 96.
Born Feb. 15, 1916, in Northville to Antoni and Mary (Majeski) Sobocinski, Ms. Danowski was a homemaker for most of her adult life.
Predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1997, she is survived by her sons, Edward, of Hicksville, and John, of Durham, N.C.; her sisters, Frances Xavier Slawski of Fairfax, Va., Mary Danowski and Betty Wivchar, both of Riverhead; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will take place, Tuesday, June 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will be held Wednesday, June 20, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Isidore’s Building Fund.
