Born in Florence, SC, to the late Ivey Pearson and Annie Laney Harmon, Mrs. Stevens was the widow of Mr. John A. Stevens. A graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, Mrs. Stevens went on to earn her Masters in Career Education and Guidance Counseling from Mississippi State University. Despite her success at Mississippi State, Mrs. Stevens enjoyed tailgating for Ole Miss sporting events and was co-founder of the Ole Miss/Holmes Junior College satellite campus in Grenada. She was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Grenada and the Grenada Garden Club. Mrs. Stevens was also an avid supporter of Kanakuk, a Christian Athletic Camp in Branson, MO, and was instrumental in exposing North Mississippi children and their families to all Kanakuk had to offer.
Survivors include her son, John A. Stevens, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie of Oxford; a sister, Anne McGregor of Hickory, NC and five grandchildren.
