On October 11, 1983 Leah Renee Williamson was born into a loving family. A beloved daughter of Victoria Kirkpatrick and James Edward Williamson Sr. On May 8, 2015 our angel ascended into heaven. She was preceded in death by her Papa Sam and her Auntie Marlena. She is survived by her parents; grandmother Nana, only sister, Detria; and 3 brothers Darian; Jean Paul; James (BJ), Jr.; a God-Sister, Na’Imah; her pet companion, Jasmine; 1 nephew, Noah; 3 nieces, Jaida; Nia; Sophia; 3 aunties, Renee; Arvonne; Maxine; and a host of other loving aunts, uncles and cousins. In 1992 Leah’s life battle began Her life’s battle began in 1992 with a brain tumor. She won many battles: bacterial meningitis, chemo and radiation therapy but was peacefully called Home with her family and friends by her side and remained victorious.

Like a shooting star, Leah was a rare, beautiful, brilliant, extraordinary, daughter; sister; auntie; friend; and companion that gave instant joy the very second you were in her presence. She’s a once in a lifetime person and left an indelible and overwhelming legacy with everyone she met. This extraordinary young lady was not only full of life; her unrivaled accolades include, being featured in a Warren Miller Ski movie, tap danced, played piano, achieved a purple belt in tai-kwan-do, graduated with academic honors from Grandview High School in Aurora, CO and continued her education at McDaniel College and Catholic University. Leah was an active member in her church and the blind community. She worked for the Maryland State Library for the Blind and traveled the world. She will always be remembered as a kind and pure-hearted soul. SHINE ON LEAH! We love you.
