Reynaldo Baldonado, age 89, a World War II Veteran and lifelong resident of the Albuquerque South Valley and born in Bosque, NM, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Southern Tucson Arizona Veterans Hospital from a heart attack.
Reynaldo was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church for over 50 years and the Disabled American Veterans, Albuquerque Chapter.
Reynaldo was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle, God Father, cousin, compadre and friend to everyone he met.
Reynaldo is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Josie Baldonado, daughter, Mary Celsa and her husband, Joe Archuleta, son, José "Joe" Ignacio and his wife, Felice Baldonado, Ramona Irene and her husband, Cecil Sánchez, grandchildren, Dominic Cuaron, David and his wife, Amanda Sánchez and Monica Sánchez, great-grandchildren, Crystal Cuaron, Daniel Schoppe and Sydney Sánchez, sisters, Marie "Lillie" Holguín, Carmen and her husband, Wilson Romero and Marcella "Della" Turrietta, extended family, grandchildren, Cindy Martínez and Victoria Archuleta, great-grandchildren, Manuel, Dominique, Brandon Martínez, Jason, Andres, Ashley, Eric Archuleta, Sophia and Kaleb Herrera as well as many Godchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Reynaldo was preceded in death by his parents, José Ignacio and Ramona Baldonado, brother, Hernández Baldonado and sisters, Isabelita Trujillo, Bessie Chávez, Jeova Saenz and Tercilla Zombrano and grandsons, Andrew Vigil and Jason Archuleta.
Reynaldo will always be remembered as the polka king, as he loved Spanish music and dancing. Reynaldo will forever be loved and missed by all.
All services will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM beginning with a visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Ramona Irene Sánchez. A final visitation will be held on Thursday May 14, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cristo Rey Cemetery. Reception to celebrate his life will follow the interment at Eagle Park Community Center, 305 Eagle Ln., Belén, NM. Pallbearers will be David Sánchez, Carl J. Hurst, Floren Trujillo, Chris Romero, Phillip Zombrano and Armando Chávez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dominic Cuaron, Manuel Holguín, Ramon De Rodríguez and Louis Romero.
