Addison L. Evans, 58, of Loudon St., Johnstown, Ohio passed away on Sunday evening, June 29, 2008 at his home surrounded by his caring family.

He was born on June 12, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late Leo and Beverly (Parson) Evans.

Addison was a machinist for Omatech in Gahanna and he also farmed the family farm on Loudon Street. Addison was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 254 in Johnstown. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Addison is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Rhodeback) Evans, whom he married on October 16, 1993; a son, Shane Evans of Johnstown; a grandson, Michael Evans; a brother, Monty (Melissa) Evans of Appleton; step sons, John (Cindy) Swartz III of Johnstown and Tim (Sabrina) Swartz of Mount Vernon

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, where funeral services will held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Johnstown with military graveside services.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Mr. Evans.
