She was the daughter of Amos J James (1821 TN) and Martha R unknown (1823 TN) who were found in Hampton, Monroe county 1860 census. The family had been in Illinois prior. She was the last of nine children. Siblings; Elizabeth 1844 IL, Benjamin 1846 IL, Voley 1848 IL, Alfred 1850 IL, Emily 1852 IL, Allen 1855 IL (married Malinda Spears in 1880), William 1858 AR (married Amanda Ella Darby in 1879, she then married W H Cross in 1884 & had no James children), Amos 1862 AR.
"Jennie" James married Robert Brock 30 June 1881 in Lee county and had Hattie and William Brock. "Jennie" married T J Adams 7 Mar 1889 in Lee county.
Robert Brock was born in Alabama about 1867 and it appears his mother was Elizabeth born 1842 GA. Robert Brock is in Arkansas 1880 census.
