Irvin Lewis Boeskool, age 85, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Holland.

Irvin grew up on a farm in Fremont, and graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1953, taking his commission with the US Air Force. In 1956 he began his engineering career with Lear Corporation, working in all their divisions. In 1962 his entrepreneurial spirit took over and he helped establish a new division for Conductron Corporation in Grand Rapids. McDonnell Douglas purchased Conductron and Irv eventually moved to Arlington, VA to become their Washington liaison for technology until his retirement. Wherever he lived, Irv was involved in the local Lutheran Church. He actively participated in the life of each congregation, using his gifts – which often landed him on a building committee. Irv was an interesting mix of people-lover, risk-taker, philosopher and lifelong learner.

Irv was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn (nee Schwartz) Boeskool in 1965; and six sisters, Lorraine, Mildred, Hazel, Florence, Edna and Billie.

Surviving him are his beloved wife, four daughters, step-children, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 sisters.

Burial and graveside committal services are planned for 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont, MI with Rev. James Schouweiler officiating. A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the auditorium of Freedom Village, 145 Columbia Ave, Holland, with Rev. Ryan Winningham officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland, or Zion Lutheran Church in Holland. Arrangements are by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, Holland.
