June was a talented clothing designer and owned a bridal shop in Allen Park. Her brides did not pick a dress off the rack and have it altered. June designed a unique creation for each of them then made it a reality. She also reupholstered her own furniture and sewed all her drapes and curtains. I don't think there was anything she couldn't do with a needle and thread.
In addition, June inherited considerable musical talent. She had a lovely soprano voice and enjoyed singing along with operatic recordings.
June fractured her back twice; once during an ice skating accident in childhood, and again in adulthood during a mishap on a ride at Bobolo Island but she inherited the grit and determination demonstrated by her mother and grandmother. Despite challenging health issues she remained in her own home until the very end of her life, and she once told me she believed she had had a good life, overall.
In February 2015 she fell at home and was hospitalized for her injuries. She came through orthopedic surgery with flying colors but began failing the following day; and then she was gone. She was survived by one son and three granddaughters.
This lady was my aunt, and I viewed her birth certificate record at the Stark Co. Health Dept in Canton Ohio . Her middle name was "Meriam" not "Merian" as is shown on the gravestone.
