Andrew Barnett, 55, Johnson City, entered into rest at Johnson City Medical Center on Monday, May 4, 2015. A native of Alexandria, VA, he is a son of Bonnie Laing Barnett of Rainelle, WV and the late Ralph Barnett. Andrew proudly served his country in the United States Navy and worked as an animal control officer. He enjoyed electronics, woodworking, all types of music and most of all riding his motorcycle. Andrew has resided in Johnson City since 1995. In addition to his father, Andrew is preceded in death by his grandparents and aunts and uncles. In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol Steele Barnett of the home; three sons, Chris Green and his wife Heather of Elizabethton, David Green and his wife Ashley of Johnson City and Joshua Levi Helms of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Corey, Cooper & Mason; a sister, Patricia Barnett and her fiancé, Jimmy Rodriguez; an aunt, Barbara Slaughter of Jacksonville, FL; Haley & Caleb Rodriguez; and several cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in memory of Andrew to the Johnson City-Washington County Animal Shelter, A Memorial Service to Honor the Life of Andrew will be held at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City with Rev. Mark Street and Rev. Adam Paige officiating. The family will receive guests to share memories at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM.
